Galesburg Silver Streaks (Galesburg, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL), 42-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Galesburg upgrades its record to 23-5 on the season. The Silver Streaks travel to Rock Island (Rock Island, IL) to play the Rocks in a Western Big 6 bout on Saturday, February 3. The Rocks go into the bout with a record of 9-17. Rock Island won 57-52 in their recent league bout against Moline (Moline, IL)

Next up, the Maple Leafs play the Kaneland Knights (Maple Park, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 3. Geneseo will attempt to upgrade on its 7-18 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 20-8 record after their 51-39 league win over Ottawa (Ottawa, IL).
