The Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI) basketball nipped the host Manistique Emeralds (Manistique, MI), 56-50 in Thursday's league test.
The Mountaineers (4-11) will now prepare for their test against Westwood (Ishpeming, MI). The Patriots go into the Western Peninsula test with a 6-8 record. In their last test, Westwood was tipped by Gladstone (Gladstone, MI), 54-49, in a non-league test.
The Emeralds now own a 7-6 record. They play next when they host Rudyard for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 6.
