Kearny Kardinals (Kearny, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host St. Dominic Academy Blue Devils (Jersey City, NJ), 58-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Kearny upgrades its record to 9-10 on the season. The Kardinals host Payne Tech (Newark, NJ) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Payne Tech won 60-31 in their recent non-league bout against East Side (Newark, NJ)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Passaic Indians (Passaic, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 3. St. Dominic Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 10-9 record after their 61-31 league loss to Kennedy (Paterson, NJ).
