The McMinn County Cherokees basketball team (Athens, TN), dropped 47-29 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Walker Valley Mustangs (Cleveland, TN)
The Mustangs now possess a 12-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rhea County for a non-league battle on Friday, February 2. Walker Valley will confront a Golden Eagles team coming off a 66-62 non-league loss to Maryville Christian (Maryville, TN). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 12-11.
The Cherokees (6-7) will now prepare for their battle against Sequoyah (Madisonville, TN). The Chiefs come into the non-league battle with a 3-7 record. In their last battle, Sequoyah dropped by Lenoir City (Lenoir City, TN), 73-35, in a league battle.
