The Somerset Spartans (Somerset, WI) basketball crushed the visiting St. Croix Central Panthers (Hammond, WI), 64-43 in Thursday's league test.

The Spartans (12-8) will now prepare for their test against Ellsworth (Ellsworth, WI). The Panthers go into the Middle Border test with a 13-8 record. In their last test, Ellsworth was trounced by Baldwin-Woodville (Baldwin, WI), 53-41, in a league test.

The Panthers now own a 9-12 record. They play next when they host Altoona for a Middle Border test on Tuesday, February 6. St. Croix Central will encounter a Railroaders squad coming off a 50-29 league win over Amery (Amery, WI). The Railroaders record now stands at 16-5.
