The Salem Spartans basketball team scored 43 points and held the visiting Patrick Henry Patriots to 9 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Spartans now have a 11-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pulaski County for a non-league game on Tuesday, February 6. Salem will face a Cougars team coming off a 32-26 non-league win over Blacksburg (Blacksburg, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 16-1.

With the defeat, Patrick Henry moves to 1-10 on the year. The Patriots travel to Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA) to face the Eagles in a non-league game on Monday, February 5. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 2-14. Franklin County lost 39-17 in their recent non-league game against Fleming (Roanoke, VA)
