In Thursday's league test, the host Albert Lea Tigers ice hockey team scored a tight 5-3 win over the Faribault Falcons.

The Tigers (10-7) will now prepare for their test against Simley (Inver Grove Heights, MN). The Spartans enter the non-league match with a 3-15 record. In their last match, Simley by Mahtomedi (Mahtomedi, MN), 5-1, in a league match.

Next up, the Falcons clash with the Red Wing Wingers (Red Wing, MN) in a Big 9 match, on Saturday, February 3. Faribault will attempt to improve on its 7-11 season record. The Wingers enter the match with a 4-13 record after their 5-2 league loss to Winona (Winona, MN).
