Avondale Yellowjackets (Auburn Hills, MI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting University Eagles (Ferndale, MI), 5-2 in a league bout.

With the victory, Avondale upgrades its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Rochester (Rochester Hills, MI) to play the Falcons in a bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 3-0. Rochester won 62-46 in their recent non-league bout against Berkley (Berkley, MI)

Next up, the Eagles play the Oxford Wildcats (Oxford, MI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. University will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record.
