In Saturday's non-league contest, the host West Aurora Blackhawks basketball team scored a good 68-59 triumph over the Downers Grove South Mustangs.

The Blackhawks (15-8) will now prepare for their contest against Elgin (Elgin, IL). The Maroons go into the Upstate Eight - West contest with a 2-22 record. In their last contest, Elgin was topped by Bartlett (Bartlett, IL), 55-23, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Leyden Eagles (Franklin Park, IL) in a West Suburban - Gold contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Downers Grove South will attempt to better on its 12-11 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 7-16 record after their 40-39 league loss to Hinsdale South (Darien, IL).
