In Saturday's league contest, the host Islesboro Central Eagles basketball team scored a close 45-39 triumph over the Vinalhaven Vikings.

The Eagles (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Pine Tree Academy (Freeport, ME). The Breakers go into the D South contest with a 10-9 record. In their last contest, Pine Tree Academy was tipped by Temple Academy (Waterville, ME), 52-47, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Vikings confront the North Haven Hawks (North Haven, ME) in a D South contest, on Monday, February 3. Vinalhaven will attempt to better on its 1-13 season record. The Hawks go into the contest with a 0-15 record after their 68-31 non-league loss to Richmond (Richmond, ME).
