In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting John Curtis Christian Patriots basketball team scored a good 62-53 triumph over the Vandebilt Catholic Terriers.

The Patriots (29-7) will now prepare for their contest against St. Augustine (New Orleans, LA). The Purple Knights go into the 5A District 9 contest with a 22-3 record. In their last contest, St. Augustine topped Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, LA), 50-28, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Terriers confront the Lutcher Bulldogs (Lutcher, LA) in a 4A District 8 contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Vandebilt Catholic will attempt to better on its 19-8 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 11-18 record after their 63-57 league win over Assumption (Napoleonville, LA).
