The Helix Highlanders basketball squad (La Mesa, CA), was nudged 36-35 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA)

With the victory, El Capitan advances its record to 7-11 on the year. The Vaqueros travel to Monte Vista (Spring Valley, CA) to meet the Monarchs in a battle on Tuesday, February 4. The Monarchs enter the battle with a record of 1-6.

The Highlanders now own a 12-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Madison for a non-league battle on Saturday, February 1. Helix will meet a Warhawks squad coming off a 68-45 non-league win over Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, CA). The Warhawks record now stands at 17-3.
