In Saturday's league contest, the visiting Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals basketball team scored a good 58-45 triumph over the Padua Franciscan Bruins.

The Royals (13-5) will now prepare for their contest against Buchtel (Akron, OH). The Griffins go into the non-league contest with a 4-13 record. In their last contest, Buchtel was toppled by Euclid (Euclid, OH), 42-22, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Bruins confront the Beaumont School Blue Streaks (Cleveland Heights, OH) in a Crown contest, on Wednesday, February 5. Padua Franciscan will attempt to better on its 11-8 season record. The Blue Streaks go into the contest with a 6-14 record after their 57-23 non-league win over Independence (Independence, OH).
