The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the North Ridgeville Rangers (North Ridgeville, OH) and the host Elyria Pioneers (Elyria, OH), observed North Ridgeville's basketball team overcome Elyria by a score of 42-27.

The Rangers (8-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Midview (Grafton, OH). The Middies come into the Southwestern challenge with a 5-14 record. In their last challenge, Midview dropped by Berea-Midpark (Berea, OH), 67-32, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Pioneers battle the Avon Lake Shoremen (Avon Lake, OH) in a Southwestern challenge, on Wednesday, February 5. Elyria will attempt to improve on its 2-17 season record. The Shoremen come into the challenge with a 16-4 record after their 63-32 non-league loss to Archbishop Hoban (Akron, OH).
