The Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY) basketball nipped the visiting Magoffin County Hornets (Salyersville, KY), 59-57 in Thursday's league test.
The Golden Eagles (14-8) will now prepare for their test against Boyd County (Ashland, KY). The Lions go into the non-league test with a 18-4 record. In their last test, Boyd County got by Montgomery County (Mt. Sterling, KY), 70-45, in a non-league test.
The Hornets now own a 8-12 record. They play next when they host Belfry for a non-league test on Friday, February 11. Magoffin County will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 71-58 non-league loss to East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY). The Pirates record now stands at 8-9.
