In Friday's non-league match, the host Burwell Longhorns basketball team scored a decisive 52-16 triumph over the Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets.

In their next game, the Longhorns meet the Twin Loup Wolves (Sargent, NE) in a D1 District 7 match, on Friday, February 17. Burwell will attempt to move on its 7-12 season record. The Wolves enter the match with a 3-17 record after their 71-35 non-league loss to Central Valley (Greeley, NE).
