Texas High School Basketball - Veterans Memorial edges Canyon

The Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX) basketball nipped the host Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX), 53-46 in Friday's league test.

The Patriots (30-4) will now prepare for their test against Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX). The Chargers go into the 5A Region IV District 26 test with a 28-4 record. In their last test, Boerne-Champion was tipped by Wagner (San Antonio, TX), 52-51, in a league test.

The Cougars now own a 7-27 record. They play next when they travel to Tivy for a 5A Region IV District 26 test on Tuesday, February 14. Canyon will encounter a Antlers squad coming off a 56-48 league win over Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX). The Antlers record now stands at 17-7.
