The Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL) basketball knocked off the visiting Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL), 60-50 in Friday's league test.

The Comets (23-5) will now prepare for their test against Streator (Streator, IL). The Bulldogs go into the Illinois Central 8 test with a 16-12 record. In their last test, Streator notched a victory over Herscher (Herscher, IL), 70-37, in a league test.

The Coalers now own a 11-16 record. They play next when they travel to Lisle for a Illinois Central 8 test on Tuesday, February 14. Coal City will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 69-36 non-league win over Hiawatha (Kirkland, IL). The Lions record now stands at 16-13.
