Washburn Rural Blues (Topeka, KS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Hayden Wildcats (Topeka, KS), 43-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Washburn Rural upgrades its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Blues host Topeka (Topeka, KS) to play the Trojans in a Centennial bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 3-14. Topeka lost 67-51 in their recent non-league bout against Emporia (Emporia, KS)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Tonganoxie Chieftains (Tonganoxie, KS) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 13. Hayden will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Chieftains come into the bout with a 3-15 record after their 52-39 non-league loss to Metro Academy (Shawnee Mission, KS).
