Hickory Hornets (Hermitage, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Slippery Rock Rockets (Slippery Rock, PA), 56-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hickory upgrades its record to 10-9 on the campaign. The Hornets host Sharon (Sharon, PA) to play the Tigers in a District 10 Region 4 bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 11-9. Sharon won 68-31 in their recent league bout against Wilmington (New Wilmington, PA)

Next up, the Rockets play the Greenville Trojans (Greenville, PA) in a District 10 Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, February 14. Slippery Rock will attempt to upgrade on its 9-11 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 13-7 record after their 61-47 league loss to Grove City (Grove City, PA).
