Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX), 69-68 in a league bout.

With the win, Lovejoy upgrades its record to 23-5 on the season. The Leopards travel to Greenville (Greenville, TX) to play the Lions in a 5A Region II District 13 bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 14-16. Greenville lost 45-44 in their recent league bout against McKinney North (McKinney, TX)
