The Medina Valley Panthers (Castroville, TX) basketball nipped the host Southside Cardinals (San Antonio, TX), 63-59 in Friday's league test.

The Panthers (9-20) will now prepare for their test against Winn (Eagle Pass, TX). The Mavericks go into the 5A Region IV District 28 test with a 18-17 record. In their last test, Winn was tipped by Southwest Legacy (Von Ormy, TX), 91-34, in a league test.

The Cardinals now own a 8-20 record. They play next when they travel to South San Antonio for a 5A Region IV District 28 test on Tuesday, February 14. Southside will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 60-32 league win over McCollum (San Antonio, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 20-12.
