Melrose Red Raiders (Melrose, MA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Wilmington Wildcats (Wilmington, MA), 67-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Melrose upgrades its record to 9-9 on the season. The Red Raiders travel to Stoneham (Stoneham, MA) to clash with the Spartans in a Middlesex bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 3-15. Stoneham lost 38-31 in their recent league bout against Watertown (Watertown, MA)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Burlington Red Devils (Burlington, MA) in a Middlesex bout, on Tuesday, February 14. Wilmington will attempt to upgrade on its 2-16 season record. The Red Devils go into the bout with a 13-5 record after their 64-59 league win over Wakefield Memorial (Wakefield, MA).
