Texas High School Basketball - Nederland can't hold off Sterling

The Sterling Rangers basketball team scored 48 points and restricted the visiting Nederland Bulldogs to 47 in the Rangers league victory on Friday.
The Rangers now sport a 15-19 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Crosby for a 5A Region III District 17 contest on Tuesday, February 14. Sterling will battle a Cougars team coming off a 52-46 league loss to Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 14-15.
The Bulldogs (13-18) will now prepare for their contest against Port Neches-Groves (Port Neches, TX). The Indians come into the 5A Region III District 17 contest with a 16-16 record. In their last contest, Port Neches-Groves was nudged by Goose Creek Memorial (Baytown, TX), 54-44, in a league contest.
