The New Caney Eagles basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Oak Ridge War Eagles to 68 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now sport a 13-20 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cleveland for a 6A Region II District 13 contest on Tuesday, February 14. New Caney will meet a Indians team coming off a 63-45 league win over Caney Creek (Conroe, TX). The Indians record now stands at 11-17.

The War Eagles (6-24) will now prepare for their contest against College Park (The Woodlands, TX). The Cavaliers enter the 6A Region II District 13 contest with a 26-7 record. In their last contest, College Park was nudged by Conroe (Conroe, TX), 52-50, in a league contest.
