St. Edward Green Wave (Elgin, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Westmont Sentinels (Westmont, IL), 61-40 in a league challenge.

With the victory, St. Edward improves its record to 19-10 on the campaign. The Green Wave host Bishop McNamara (Kankakee, IL) to play the Fightin' Irish in a Metro Suburban challenge on Tuesday, February 14. The Fightin' Irish come into the challenge with a record of 21-7. Bishop McNamara lost 69-46 in their recent league challenge against Wheaton Academy (West Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Sentinels play the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers (Aurora, IL) in a Metro Suburban challenge, on Tuesday, February 14. Westmont will attempt to improve on its 10-20 season record. The Chargers come into the challenge with a 10-19 record after their 65-55 league win over Elmwood Park (Elmwood Park, IL).
