Vinton County Vikings (McArthur, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Wellston Golden Rockets (Wellston, OH), 69-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Vinton County upgrades its record to 16-5 on the season. The Vikings host Zane Trace (Chillicothe, OH) to clash with the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Friday, February 17. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 18-4. Zane Trace won 50-45 in their recent league bout against Paint Valley (Bainbridge, OH)

Next up, the Golden Rockets clash with the Dawson-Bryant Hornets (Coal Grove, OH) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 13. Wellston will attempt to upgrade on its 7-14 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 5-18 record after their 62-40 league loss to South Point (South Point, OH).
