Berkley Bears (Berkley, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Athens Red Hawks (Troy, MI), 43-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Berkley upgrades its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Bears host Harper Woods (Harper Woods, MI) to play the Pioneers in a Michigan Metro bout on Monday, February 13. The Pioneers come into the bout with a record of 8-6. Harper Woods lost 46-31 in their recent league bout against Oxford (Oxford, MI)

Next up, the Red Hawks play the Oxford Wildcats (Oxford, MI) in a Oakland - Blue bout, on Thursday, February 16. Athens will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 16-3 record after their 53-30 non-league win over St. Mary's Prep (Orchard Lake, MI).
