Henry Clay Blue Devils (Lexington, KY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Sayre Spartans (Lexington, KY), 67-64 in a league bout.

With the victory, Henry Clay upgrades its record to 19-5 on the campaign. The Blue Devils host Frederick Douglass (Lexington, KY) to play the Broncos in a District 42 bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Broncos come into the bout with a record of 15-10. Frederick Douglass lost 68-57 in their recent non-league bout against Woodford County (Versailles, KY)

Next up, the Spartans play the Berea Pirates (Berea, KY) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 15. Sayre will attempt to upgrade on its 16-9 season record.
