Banquete Bulldogs (Banquete, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions (Kingsville, TX), 37-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Banquete upgrades its record to 14-13 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to George West (George West, TX) to clash with the Longhorns in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Longhorns go into the bout with a record of 23-10. George West won 39-34 in their recent non-league bout against Goliad (Goliad, TX)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Aransas Pass Panthers (Aransas Pass, TX) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 12. Santa Gertrudis Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 13-20 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 10-11 record after their 68-27 league win over Mathis (Mathis, TX).
