Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM), 64-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wingate upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Bears host Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 6-5. Navajo Prep won 83-63 in their recent non-league bout against Shiprock (Shiprock, NM)

Next up, the Skyhawks clash with the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Newcomb will attempt to upgrade on its 1-15 season record.
