North Carolina High School Basketball - South Caldwell knocks off Ashe County

February 10, 2025: West Jefferson, NC 28694

The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) and the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), observed South Caldwell's basketball team overcome Ashe County by a score of 55-36.

The Spartans (16-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers come into the 3A/4A Northwestern challenge with a 3-20 record. In their last challenge, Hibriten dropped by Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 65-34, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Huskies battle the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a 3A/4A Northwestern challenge, on Friday, February 14. Ashe County will attempt to improve on its 7-13 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 16-6 record after their 72-69 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC).
