The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the St. Mary Cathedral Snowbirds (Gaylord, MI) and the visiting Ellsworth Lancers (Ellsworth, MI), observed St. Mary Cathedral's basketball team overcome Ellsworth by a margin of 39-30.

The Snowbirds (10-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Central Lake (Central Lake, MI). The Trojans come into the Ski-Valley challenge with a 6-12 record. In their last challenge, Central Lake defeated Johannesburg-Lewiston (Johannesburg, MI), 59-39, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Lancers battle the Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs (Traverse City, MI) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, February 12. Ellsworth will attempt to better on its 9-9 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 51-46 non-league win over Interlochen Arts Academy (Interlochen, MI).
