The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Hoxie Indians (Hoxie, KS) and the host Oakley Plainsmen (Oakley, KS), observed Hoxie's basketball team edge Oakley by a margin of 57-55.

The Indians (11-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Trego (WaKeeney, KS). The Golden Eagles come into the Mid-Continent challenge with a 7-8 record. In their last challenge, Trego was tipped by Ellis (Ellis, KS), 57-48, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Plainsmen battle the Ellis Railroaders (Ellis, KS) in a Mid-Continent challenge, on Friday, February 14. Oakley will attempt to better on its 7-11 season record. The Railroaders come into the challenge with a 8-9 record after their 64-54 non-league win over Ness City (Ness City, KS).
