The Newton Tigers got by the host Kemper County Wildcats basketball squad by a count of 53-48 in Friday's league challenge.

With the victory, Newton upgrades its record to 19-6 on the campaign. The Tigers host Pisgah (Sandhill, MS) to play the Dragons in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 15. The Dragons come into the challenge with a record of 5-3.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Pelahatchie Chiefs (Pelahatchie, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 15. Kemper County will attempt to upgrade on its 7-15 season record.
