The Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM) basketball nipped the host Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM), 59-55 in Saturday's league test.
The Chiefs (7-18) will now prepare for their test against Capitan (Capitan, NM). The Tigers go into the 2A District 3 test with a 8-15 record. In their last test, Capitan was tipped by Tularosa (Tularosa, NM), 65-49, in a league test.
The Bears now own a 6-16 record. They play next when they host Tularosa for a 2A District 3 test on Thursday, February 16. Cloudcroft will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 53-51 league win over Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM). The Wildcats record now stands at 15-9.
