Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM), 53-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mescalero Apache upgrades its record to 18-7 on the campaign. The Chiefs host Capitan (Capitan, NM) to play the Tigers in a 2A District 3 bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 19-5. Capitan won 31-30 in their recent league bout against Tularosa (Tularosa, NM)

Next up, the Bears play the Tularosa Wildcats (Tularosa, NM) in a 2A District 3 bout, on Thursday, February 16. Cloudcroft will attempt to upgrade on its 3-19 season record.
