Illinois High School Basketball - Southwestern succumbs to Gillespie

The Gillespie Miners topped the visiting Southwestern Piasa Birds basketball squad by a margin of 50-31 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Miners (17-15) will now prepare for their test against Marquette Catholic (Alton, IL). The Explorers go into the non-league test with a 13-14 record. In their last test, Marquette Catholic thwarted East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL), 63-32, in a non-league test.
The Piasa Birds now own a 4-23 record.
