The Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks basketball team scored 35 points and restricted the visiting Valley Central Vikings to 24 in the Goldbacks non-league victory on Saturday.

The Goldbacks now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pine Bush for a non-league contest on Monday, February 13. Newburgh Free Academy will battle a Bushmen team coming off a 42-36 non-league win over Kingston (Kingston, NY). The Bushmen record now stands at 5-7.

With the defeat, Valley Central moves to 6-8 on the year. The Vikings host Warwick (Warwick, NY) to meet the Wildcats in a non-league match on Monday, February 13. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 16-0. Warwick won 35-22 in their recent non-league match against Middletown (Middletown, NY)
