Illinois High School Basketball - Coal City nips Morris

The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) and the host Morris Redskins (Morris, IL), observed Coal City's basketball team edge Morris by a score of 49-46.

The Coalers (19-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Reed-Custer (Braidwood, IL). The Comets come into the Illinois Central 8 challenge with a 8-19 record. In their last challenge, Reed-Custer was tipped by Beecher (Beecher, IL), 62-51, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Redskins battle the Kaneland Knights (Maple Park, IL) in a Interstate Eight challenge, on Friday, February 14. Morris will attempt to improve on its 10-16 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 24-1 record after their 58-53 league win over Sycamore (Sycamore, IL).
