The Hickory Hornets basketball team scored 43 points and limited the visiting Slippery Rock Rockets to 36 in the Hornets league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hornets now have a 14-5 record. They play next when they travel to Grove City for a District 10 Region 4 game on Friday, February 14. Hickory will confront a Eagles team coming off a 83-55 non-league win over Mercer (Mercer, PA). The Eagles record now stands at 16-5.

With the loss, Slippery Rock falls to 11-9 on the campaign. The Rockets host Farrell (Farrell, PA) to confront the Steelers in a District 10 Region 4 game on Friday, February 14. The Steelers go into the game with a record of 8-10. Farrell won 71-67 in their recent league game against Sharon (Sharon, PA)
