The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Washington County Panthers (Plymouth, NC) and the visiting Martin County Gators (Williamston, NC), observed Washington County's basketball team knock off Martin County by a score of 47-38.

The Panthers (15-2) will now prepare for their challenge against North East Carolina Prep (Tarboro, NC). The Husky come into the 1A/2A Four Rivers challenge with a 12-11 record. In their last challenge, North East Carolina Prep was knocked off by Gates County (Gatesville, NC), 59-53, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Gators encounter the Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) in a 1A/2A Four Rivers challenge, on Friday, February 14. Martin County will attempt to improve on its 14-5 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 4-19 record after their 92-49 league loss to Bertie (Windsor, NC).
