The Copper Canyon Aztecs basketball team scored 30 points and limited the host Independence Patriots to 26 in the Aztecs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Aztecs now possess a 8-14 record. They play next when they travel to Glendale for a 5A Central Valley game on Thursday, February 13. Copper Canyon will confront a Cardinals team coming off a 44-37 league win over Washington (Phoenix, AZ). The Cardinals record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, Independence falls to 4-13 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Sierra Linda (Phoenix, AZ) to confront the Bulldogs in a 5A Central Valley game on Thursday, February 13. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 11-8. Sierra Linda won 55-53 in their recent league game against La Joya Community (Avondale, AZ)
