The Newcomb Skyhawks basketball squad (Newcomb, NM), was crushed 65-31 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM)
With the victory, Tohatchi advances its record to 14-9 on the year. The Cougars travel to Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM) to meet the Bears in a 3A District 1 battle on Thursday, February 13. The Bears enter the battle with a record of 14-10. Wingate lost 51-50 in their recent league battle against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)
The Skyhawks now own a 15-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Crownpoint for a 3A District 1 battle on Thursday, February 13. Newcomb will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 48-40 league win over Zuni (Zuni, NM). The Eagles record now stands at 11-12.
