Virginia High School Basketball - James River can't hold off Alleghany

The Alleghany Mountaineers basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting James River Knights to 54 in the Mountaineers league triumph on Saturday.
The Mountaineers now sport a 15-6 record.
The Knights (16-4) will now prepare for their contest against Floyd County (Floyd, VA). The Buffaloes enter the Three Rivers contest with a 10-11 record. In their last contest, Floyd County was nudged by Alleghany (Covington, VA), 64-58, in a league contest.
