Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Monticello Panthers (Monticello, NY) and the host Cornwall Central Dragons (New Windsor, NY), saw Monticello's basketball squad hold off Cornwall Central by a tally of 60-59.

With the victory, Monticello improves its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Valley Central (Montgomery, NY) to play the Vikings in a Section 9 Orange County II challenge on Thursday, February 15. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 11-8. Valley Central lost 47-40 in their recent league challenge against Warwick (Warwick, NY)

Next up, the Dragons play the Goshen Central Gladiators (Goshen, NY) in a Section 9 Orange County II challenge, on Thursday, February 15. Cornwall Central will attempt to improve on its 10-8 season record. The Gladiators come into the challenge with a 5-13 record after their 42-41 league win over Minisink Valley (Slate Hill, NY).
