Kankakee Kays (Kankakee, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL), 54-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Kankakee upgrades its record to 24-3 on the season. The Kays travel to Rich Township (Olympia Fields, IL) to clash with the Raptors in a Southland bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Raptors go into the bout with a record of 21-7. Rich Township won 52-40 in their recent league bout against Bloom (Chicago Heights, IL)

Next up, the Thunderbirds clash with the Oak Lawn Spartans (Oak Lawn, IL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 14. Thornwood will attempt to upgrade on its 11-17 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 21-7 record after their 62-54 league win over Blue Island Eisenhower (Blue Island, IL).
