The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans (Kensington, MD) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers (Washington, DC), 65-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, The Academy of the Holy Cross upgrades its record to 12-14 on the campaign. The Tartans host Saint John Paul the Great Catholic (Dumfries, VA) to play the Wolves in a VISAA Division I bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 10-13. Saint John Paul the Great Catholic lost 73-26 in their recent non-league bout against Paul VI (Chantilly, VA)

Next up, the Mighty Hoppers play the Madeira Snails (McLean, VA) in a VISAA Division I bout, on Thursday, February 15. Georgetown Day will attempt to upgrade on its 17-7 season record.
