The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Evergreen Valley Cougars (San Jose, CA) and the visiting Mt. Pleasant Cardinals (San Jose, CA), observed Evergreen Valley's basketball team knock off Mt. Pleasant by a score of 57-49.

The Cougars (18-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Gilroy (Gilroy, CA). The Mustangs come into the Blossom Valley - Santa Teresa East challenge with a 6-16 record. In their last challenge, Gilroy was knocked off by Oak Grove (San Jose, CA), 46-44, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cardinals encounter the Live Oak Acorns (Morgan Hill, CA) in a Blossom Valley - Santa Teresa East challenge, on Friday, February 14. Mt. Pleasant will attempt to improve on its 8-13 season record. The Acorns come into the challenge with a 11-12 record after their 49-42 league win over Ann Sobrato (Morgan Hill, CA).
