The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) and the host Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), observed George Wythe's basketball team knock off Fort Chiswell by a score of 62-54.

The Maroons (18-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Bears come into the Mountain Empire challenge with a 13-5 record. In their last challenge, Bland County prevailed over Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA), 55-28, in a non-league challenge.
